Unwelcome Guest

We're normally very excited to receive house guests...but only the kind with 2-4 legs. Anything over that is considerably less exciting.

Such as....

SPIDER! 3

I'm not sure if the true size of him can be fathomed from this photo...but all I can say is that our cornice is not that narrow...therefore this guy was rather large.

It took The Husband a few minutes to work out a plan of attack (and a few practice swings) to make sure that he was 100% going to be able to smack it...while leaving enough room for it to fall to the floor and not on him or the chair he was standing on...and smack it well enough to kill it on the first shot.

And then when he did...the dirty little guy (spider, not husband) left yukky blue stuff on our wall. Blerk!!!

  3. It's a Huntsman Spider, Leesh. They can get a lot bigger, too :O But are harmless, I believe.

One ran down our hallway when we first moved into our house and I saw it out of the corner of my eye and wasn't sure if it was a mouse or a spider, it was that big....the dog was chasing it, snapping at it and pulling legs off it as it went.....

    Thank heavens for husbands aye!!

How weird that it left blue stuff on the wall, would never have guessed the insides would be blue!

  9. Yeah, I didn't realize that's what they looked like close up, either, until I put that pic on the computer! Google images tells me it is a Huntsman, though :)
